Poole Pottery enjoys a worldwide reputation. The new shop, in the prestigious Dolphin Shopping Centre, sells a whole range of designs from tableware to table lamps. To really see what it’s all about though, take a trip to the Factory on Sopers Lane, where you can learn just about everything there is to know about Poole Pottery.
The easiest and by far the most enjoyable way to get around and see what Poole has to offer, is to climb on board the road train (01202 700158). Leaving from Poole Park every half hour the trains takes you on a tour of the streets and various attractions, a great choice for the kids.
For a fun day out for all the family, hire one of the many self-drive boats available from Yellow Penguin. Setting out from Poole harbour you can sail of to a number of picturesque locations including Wareham, Long Island and arguably the best of all, the National Trust owned Brownsea Island. Alternatively if you fancy letting someone else do the sailing for you try Blue Line Cruises who will be happy to take you where you want to go.
